Twisted

Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts

The need to belong somewhere is an issue of significance in the modern age. Inspired by Dickens original tale Oliver Twist and David Lean’s film adaptation, this production proved to be an expressionistic examination of the impact of authoritarianism on the individual. Themes of homelessnes, identity and belonging were exposed; taken from the perspective of homeless women.

Twisted scrutinized female violence, gangs, and survival skills in modern streetlife and proposed new defintions and models of family and what it costs to be adopted by strangers when living beneath the radar of the mainstream society.
